Slater & Gordon was the first law firm in the world to become a public company, and evolved from an Australian plaintiff’s firm into a multi-national plaintiff’s firm. Now it’s matching share purchases for all employees, in modest amounts, and using a cricket player to advertise its brand, including putting its logo on his bat. One can only imagine the reaction of the American Bar Association and its ethicists.
Good, bad or otherwise, there is major, ongoing change in the litigation industry and global legal markets. And US law firms are not leading in all areas, for many reasons.
Hat tip to the Global Legal Post.
