The Continuing Churn of the “Outrage Industry” as to Asbestos Bankruptcy Trusts

The New York Times issued a June 2013 editorial on asbestos bankruptcy trusts. To say the least, the editorial was underwhelming – no depth, and few facts, but it did toss out a conclusion. Now, members of the outrage industry have jumped in with follow up letters to the editor. The letters are likewise lame. Thus, the outrage industry continues to churn, with virtually no substance or balance.

The asbestos bankruptcy trusts have real flaws and real benefits. Serious efforts at change would be good. But the editorial and letters are not progress. To the contrary, they are counter-productive.
