Garlock Liability Estimation Trial Starts Today

The Garlock liability estimation trial gets underway today before a North Carolina judge, as noted in the Journal. In short, Garlock’s theme is that settlement expenses rose because it became too expensive to defend, and so it settled cases instead. Plaintiff’s in short argue that settlement payments reflect liability, and that the process for estimating liability is now settled law.
